Opportunities to
serve in the Music Ministry
Adult
Choir:
Open to teenagers and adults, they rehearse on Wednesday nights from 7:30 until 8:30pm. This choir serves primarily in morning worship, and also presents 2 or 3 seasonal musicals throughout the year.
Children's Choir:
Open to any child in grades K through 6, they meet on Sundays from 5:15 until 6:25pm during the school year. This choir shares periodically in worship, and also present 1 or 2 musicals each year.
Preschool
Choir:
Open to any child ages 4 and 5, they meet on Sundays from 5:15 until 6:25pm during the school year. This choir shares periodically in worship.
Handbell Choir:
Open to any teenager or adult with some degree of music-reading ability, the bell choir rehearses on Sundays from 4:15pm until 5:15pm during the school year. They share in worship and also ring as an outreach in places like shopping centers and retirement homes.
Praise
Bands:
Open to those who play guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and certain wind instruments. Participation will depend on level of ability and the needs of the ministry. This group assists in leading worship on Sunday mornings and evenings. The bands rehearse on the following schedule:

Sunday Morning (Blended Worship) – Wednesday

nights at 7:15pm

Worship Teams: These ensembles alternate in leading worship on Sunday mornings. Each Team is comprised of 3-to-4 singers. Worship Teams rehearse with the Praise Bands on the schedule above.
Church
Orchestra:
This group accompanies congregational singing on Sunday mornings, plays instrumental pieces in worship, and also accompanies the Adult Choir occasionally when they sing. This group is open to anyone who has played a wind, string, or percussion instrument for at least two years.
Drama
Team:
This team rehearses as needed. They lead in worship on Sundays through drama, interpretive movement, and music, as well as performing ministry as an outreach. This group is open to anyone.
Dinner Theater:
This event occurs on a rotating basis as an outreach to our community. Participation is open to anyone based on the needs of the production. See Bob Chichester for more information.
A Kearney
Christmas: This event occurs most Decembers as an outreach to our community. It is predominantly a combination of music and drama, but participation is open to anyone based on the needs of the production.
